These events highlight Indio as a major cultural hub in Southern California. Beyond festivals, Indio offers various attractions. The Empire Polo Club provides thrilling winter polo matches, and the Indio Spa offers luxurious treatments for relaxation.

How I See It as a Big Rig RVer

It’s challenging to fully understand an RV park or campground just from reading Google reviews, as they can often be unclear or incomplete. That’s why our site relies on firsthand experiences from an experienced RVer who tells it like it is, to provide you with honest and detailed insights into each park or campground.

Indian Wells

This is a nice park located in the center of Indian Wells. It is slowly transforming to a Park Model community, but still have plenty of sites to accommodate most RVs. Need a longer term stay? Monthly rates are competitive for longer-term stays.

Indio Springs RV Resort

Indio Springs is a nice place to stay in the winter... if... • You’re age 55 or older • You’re not planning on staying short-term • You’re planning on paying by the month • You’ll be heading to the next location before the 9-month stay limit Truly a nice park but only if you’re old enough and not going anywhere very soon.

Motorcoach Country Club

Let’s be honest. Some places make you feel like a million, and other places make you feel out-of-place if you didn’t spend a million or more on your RV. You’ll most likely find one specific group of people here: Those who never ask “how much?” If that question is on your mind, well, you’d better keep searching! If it’s not – then this is a very, very nice resort.

Outdoor Resort Indio

The last time a pop-up was spotted here was when a ground-hog popped up wondering why there was a caterpillar coming after him! Okay – that story isn’t true, but this is a true luxury resort where you’ll find only the nicest of motorcoaches. If you happen to drop in and ask the price, the office person will gladly share the price of several surrounding resorts!

Shadow Hills RV Resort

Centrally located in Indio, the overhead picture says it well. This resort was built for the RV’s of yesterday where small rigs ruled the earth and pull-through’s were not yet a thing. The 90-degree angle back-in sites and narrow roads make navigation a challenge, and anything of any size needs an RV shoe-horn to wiggle into a site. If you plan to park for a while, perhaps working in the area or needing a place for a while, this park might be worth the challenge of parking.

Cathedral Palms RV Resort

About 30 minutes away

If your rig is 30’ or less, you’ll be fine here. Any bigger and things tighten up quickly. This former KOA is now in the heart of the city, and isn’t bad if you don’t mind backing in. Nice pool. Nice hosts. Just not ideal for bigger rigs.

Emerald Desert RV Resort

From an aesthetic standpoint, this park is quite beautiful. The trees are plentiful, the grass is green, and many of the sites (not all) have a little space around them. The pricing tier you decide on will determine where you stay, but overall, a pretty nice park. On the down side, if you just want to pull through and not unhook your tow car, that’s not going to happen here. And, there’s a fair amount of freeway noise and occasional train noise. They do offer a lot of activities, and the pool area is nice. Advance booking is recommended for winter guests.
